Covid-19 has seen a forced increase of company teams, customers, suppliers having to have more interactions online. The world is changing, and this forced disruption has forced businesses to think and operate differently. We have seen an increase in online meetings within our own company, which has had its challenges.
This must be one of the most powerful talks I have attended as part of the EQ Entrepreneur Network Durban South Africa.
Richard’s talk was filled with valuable insights and statistics on the biggest health epidemic of the 21st century: DEPRESSION.
I was amazed by this South African man who had accomplished so much. Richard’s credibility is backed up with an incredible track record where he has worked with some of the world’s best athletes and businesses.
The talk was split into two parts, the ‘cause of stress’ and ‘how to be exceptional’.
Companies’ investment of R1.5 million on 4 Devices, could have potentially been R350k!
You really need to know and understand the rules of engagement of the Office Automation and Asset Financing World, as being aware of the details can possibly save you millions!
In our world and our interaction with clients, we have accepted that the printing and print related contracts, are placed at the bottom of the food chain. As specialist in our field, we believe that C levels in businesses should be aware of what’s going on. This information is not always filtered through the correct channels of the organisation, to ensure that contracts and pricing are properly reviewed, before it is signed.

Think twice before opting for bartered sponsorship deals for your school with Office Automation companies.
These days there appears to be a trend with Office Automation companies offering sponsorship to schools in order to obtain their business, the question and concern this raises with me is “Who is actually paying for the sponsorship, the Office Automation Company or the School?”
I recently engaged with a school that was offered what seemed to be a great sponsorship deal in return for their business. However, upon investigation it turned out that the rates the school were paying had been highly inflated and were laden with high finance costs on their hardware rentals. This resulted in the school (unbeknownst to them) ending up paying for their sponsored incentive.

Having taken part in this worthy challenge for the past two years, one would think that I had completely lost my mind, and yes, perhaps you need to be a little crazy to take on this grueling task in such a short time span, but it was TOTALLY worth it!
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” Dale Carnegie
I recently read this amazing book, “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, by Dale Carnegie, and this raised the question in my head as to what impact our phone would have on developing relationships.
The next time you print a document ask yourself: Do I need to print this?
The answer may surprise you.
Most companies are strategically focused on digitisation. But what does this really mean? It is not only about digital documents and avoiding printing, but also about finding more efficient and sustainable ways of doing business.
I have been in the office automation environment for 15 years and I still love what I do. From the early days of calling on customers to sell re-manufactured laser print cartridges, to our current focus on selling a win-win outcomes-based solution, I am amazed at how this industry has progressed and I am excited about the road ahead.

The current state of our nation and the world would suggest that the moral compass has gone a little haywire. Almost every bit of news we read is filled with corruption, violence, greed, power and generally negative stuff.
I ask myself, what is going wrong with us? Why can’t we get along? Why are people stealing? Why are we fighting one another? Why, why, why? Have we lost the plot? What has gone wrong?
I certainly don’t have the answers, but what I see is lack of leadership, people want more and they will do almost anything to get it in as little time as possible, we have become more and more self-centred and through this, our value systems are compromised.
It is estimated that over 1.3 billion printer cartridges are sold every year, and according to the International Data Corporation (IDC), more than 12 million laser and ink cartridges are imported into South Africa annually.
The question is, how many of these laser and ink cartridges end up in landfills?
